Alma is a project where all its players share the same interest for an important part of the brazilian musical tradition. This music gets its inspiration from choros, milonga, samba, and more ancient and attractive rhythms and melodies, filtered and reshaped by important composers, as Egberto Gismonti, Hermeto Pascoal, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Milton Nascimento and others. Beginning from the popular brazilian culture, they were able to develop a universal language, capable to express deeply the soul of Brazil. Mario Marzi the first saxosophone at ‘La Scala’ Theatre Orchestra, has played with world famous conductors (C. M. Giulini, W. Sawallisch, G. Sinopoli, R. Muti, G. Prètre, L. Maazel, L. Berio, M.W. Chung, R.F. De Burgos, S. Bychkov, C. Abbado). He plays all over the world in many prestigious concert halls. Emiliano Rodriguez has worked with prestigious orchestras like ‘La Scala’ Theatre Orchestra, RAI Symphony Orchestra, Opera Theatre of Rome. He has collaborated with musicians as G. Trovesi, P. Fresu, E. Rava, S. Bollani, P. Favre, H. Bullock. Roberto Bartoli bassist and composer, has been on the jazz scene since 1975. He has played with M. Urbani, B. Berg, M. Stern, S. Grossman, P. Fresu, F. D'Andrea, G. Trovesi. Fabrizio Puglisi, pianist and composer, has worked with L. Bowie, B. Morris, J. Zorn, K.Wheeler, E. Rava, S. Lacy, L. Sclavis, D. Liebman, G. Russell, P. Fresu, R. Galliano, Italian Instabile Orchestra, Han Bennink. He played in many festivals in Europe, Usa, Canada, South America, Africa.
